Futuro meets Sky Academy

20 May 2019

On May 2019, Fondazione Ambienta met with Sky Academy in Milan.

Sky Academy, Sky’s sustainability project designed for students between the age of 8 and 16, provides participants with an opportunity to create a real news report so to increase their ability to distinguish facts from opinions and to encourage them verify sources.

Students of one of Milan’s third year middle classes were the first to submit their request to participate in the competition of Futuro, La Fondazione’s environmental education course for secondary school children.

Before engaging in a purposefully designed workshop, the children had the opportunity to visit Sky’s TV studios and learn about the different professions that would normally take part in the creation of a news report.

Each participant was assigned a specific role (cameraman, director, journalist, editor, stylist, eyewitness, expert), and were asked to develop interviews with individuals or experts in specific sectors.

Everything was promptly assembled by members of the sky team who then produced a real news report.
